Whenever we see the name GameArt associated with a slot game, we immediately want to take a closer look. This one is no exception, even though the title gives away what you'll find on the reels.
This game has some expensive-looking gems of all colors popping up, and you can watch out for gold rings and regal crowns too. But will this game give you everything you could want in the way of prizes?
Format of reels and paylines
This game has five reels and not many paylines - only 10 in this instance.
What could you bet on the game?
The low bet amount is a cent on each payline, meaning you can cover everything with a 10-cent spin. The top coin value is a half-dollar.
Does Royal Gems offer any special symbols?
Well, the crown is by far the biggest prize winner. Alter your coin value while looking at the paytable and you will see what the cash prizes would be for each combination. The scatter is a crystal star of some kind, which looks impressive and is especially valuable as it pays no matter where it lands - assuming you have at least three stars.
Hunting for a bonus feature
Surprisingly, the answer is no. There are no free spins to be had here and no other bonus feature either. The game does feature a gamble option, which can be used after any win you get.
The idea is to bet on either red or black, or on the suit the card will be. You get 2x your prize if you get the color right, but if you bet correctly on the card suit you get 4x your prize. However, this is a very quick way to lose what you have already won, so consider whether it is worth using at all. We don't think it is.

While we liked Royal Gems, there isn't enough here in the way of features to make it a definite favorite of ours. We'd still try it from time to time purely because it is a GameArt slot game, but other than that, we would be happy if we didn't play it again.
